This city is home to a large British community.

Melbourne the cosmopolitan capital of australia

Ranked the world's most livable city along with Vancouver; Melbourne is a paradise for tourist all over the world, who flock here each year to experience everything this chameleon city has to offer.

As the capital of Australia's south-east state Victoria, Melbourne is often referred to the country's sporting and cultural centre. However this river side city has so much more to offer, including the latest fashion, a great variety of multicultural cuisine and a mix of modern and Victorian art.

Melbourne's trams, with their ornate Victorian designs are a symbol of the rich culture and art that is alive throughout the streets and alleys. The city celebrates a wide variety of annual cultural events, performing arts and architecture. The Art Centre shaped like a ballerina's tutu and lit up every night with thousands of different coloured lights, is the home of performing arts, hosting everything from the Australian Ballet Company, to various operas and plays. The adjacent National Gallery of Victoria continues this theme, running a mix of temporary and permanent exhibitions, with a large collection of both international and national works that explore every facet of the art world. However if the formal restraints of the high end of art and culture is not your thing, Melbourne is also considered to be Australia's live music capital, meaning you can go to any of the world class pubs and hear great live music from some of the city's most talented up and coming artists.

Like all Australians, sport is an institution in Melbourne. The jam packed sporting calender begins in January when the stars of international tennis compete in the grand slam Australia Open, where the atmosphere is magical and the weather is divine. The thrills continue at the Melbourne Cricket Ground or MCG, which hosts the very best in cricket during the summer and Australian rule football during the winter. As the home of the Australian football code, known as AFL, the MCG is mecca for lovers of football and cricket, with organized tours taking you inside the stadium's memorabilia filled halls and even onto the ground itself. Throughout the year you can also enjoy basketball, swimming, soccer and many other sports in Melbourne's specially designed sports precinct.

For lovers of couture and the latest fashion, Melbourne offers the best stores ranging from designer brands to vintage bargains. Melbourne Central, the cities largest shopping complex has over 300 stores sure to placate any shop-a-holic regardless of their personal style and budget. Whilst unlike the unique and modern architecture of Melbourne Central, the Queen Victoria Market is world famous for its great buys and earthy atmosphere. Here you get so much more than a shopping district, out in the open air the scene is vibrant and cosmopolitan, complete with performing buskers and a variety of produce and goods, making for a truly multicultural and unique affairs that has drawn tourists to this historic site for more than 125 years.

A truly diverse and multicultural city, dining in Melbourne is a treat with restaurants covering every nationality in the world. For fine dinning, Southgate is the place to be, offering unparalleled views of the splendid Yarra River and so many choices.

Enjoy a delicious meal at one of the award winning restaurants, a quick lunch at the less formal Riverside Food Court or a coffee and sweet at the numerous cafйs and bars.

In terms of multicultural restaurants the options are endless, try Italian food at the stylish Lygon Street, Carlton or Greek food in the very Mediterranean Russell street. But if you're looking for Chinese food, look no further than Melbourne's enchanting Chinatown. Brightly coloured Chinatown offers traditional laneway eateries that will transport you to lively streets of Beijing. More than just food Chinatown, serves up unique shops and stalls as well as Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Japanese restaurants that are sure to tantalize the tastebuds.

With so much to offer it is impossible to squeeze Melbourne into one short article. This sophisticated city may be less than 200 years old and constantly changing but its vibrant energy never fails to excite and enthrall tourists. Impossible not to love, Melbourne's bustling atmosphere of luscious parks, top restaurants, great shops and rich culture cannot be explained, it has to be experienced.

Economic program for an internet home business

The cost of running an Internet business is low relative to common business expenses. But existing consumption habits may cause cash burning. New Internet enterprisers are apt to find within few months that they spent the budget, and the burden of household payments forces them to return to the labor market.

Here is an action plan for a balanced budget. It is a list of the most important changes which should be done in the domestic consumption habits, for creating a positive cash flow.

These are not just saving tips. The changes also promise at the same time significant improvement of life quality.

Housing

The Internet provides an excellent opportunity to reduce dwelling costs. It's possible to work from remote, inexpensive and attractive places.

In the apartment, the entire activity can be concentrated around a portable table where the computer is stored, and in any available place.

Big bookshelves are unnecessary because most of the books arrive nowadays as computer files.

Viewing movies and listening to music from the Internet with the PC spare the money for large televisions and stereo sets.

Car

The car is dispensable for home workers. Even when it is parked for a long time it causes big expenses as depreciation, insurance and more.

If the car is old it is profitable to throw it immediately to the junkyard and not to try to sell it. The saving in ownership costs is so great that the loss is balanced within few months.

Public transportation

Walking and bicycle riding enable the arrival from home to many places faster, easier and at no cost.

Most of the services that a man need for his daily living are located in a commercial center at a distance of a healthy walking.

Buses and other mass transport systems demand a long waiting time and they have a long route.

Telephone and mail

Free software enables nowadays a connection free of charge between any point in the world, including video conversations.

E-mails are excellent replacement for ordinary mail.

The option for switching from printed flyers to E-mail newsletters encouraged many people to start working on the Web.

Electricity

The professional Web surfer should wear a good Ski suit for the winter. When dressed in such suit there is no need for a heater and it's possible to benefit from open window and fresh air on cold days.

The beauty and comfort of these modern suits make them suitable for the entire day.

Cables and Satellite TV

These services do not offer much. The biggest part of the visual medium is stored nowadays in the Internet, with countless channels that enable viewing anything according to personal preferences.

Any Internet enterpriser is a media producer who contributes original works to the scene.

Newspapers and magazines

Updated information can be found easily on the Internet and there is no need to wait for daily newspaper or magazine.

Beside, all the strength for reading is needed for the Internet.

Computer

Familiar computers and software products are more reliable then the advanced and expensive merchandise, which tend to suffer from running problems.

This is a critical point. The computer must function perfectly. It reflects life and is important as breathing air.

Internet

There are excellent learning courses on the internet at no cost. Especially on the subjects of Web sites building, graphics and basic marketing advices.

Outsourcing is not needed. It is possible to do all the Internet tasks alone with proper software.

This economic program contains additional ideas to those which were described here.

All these changes promise simultaneously significant improvement of life quality and huge money saving.

Therefore each advice should be implemented fully before continuing to the next one, in order to create a natural process. Economic changes are seemed simple at first sight but demand great effort, because it is hard to get rid of existing consumption habits.

After finishing the entire program it's possible to turn to quality investment on the Internet.

The Internet's economy is Information Economy. The money invested on it is Information Money. It provides constructive knowledge. Therefore it gives greater spiritual welfare then any spending on regular consumption product.

Money becomes abstract concept and creates sublimation process in the soul. It becomes a habit to contemplate on any penny for hours before spending it.

This is fine and so it should be.

Money is just a reflection of the human shape in the crowd.

Rock stars music icons alcohol and drug overdose

There is a saying that rock and roll stars live on the edge and drive in the fast lane. Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Michael Hutchence of INXS did just that. They were music icons who lived on the edge. Sad to say, their fame and fortune also led to their untimely deaths. What's more alarming is these stars die a few years after achieving fame. News of rock stars and other music icons dying young is alarming, because their deaths are associated with substance overdose.

A recent study conducted in Liverpool John Moores University showed that 1,050 American and European artists or so-called “icons” died earlier than average people. Of the 100 stars that died from 1956 to 2005, majority of these American “music icons” died at the age of 42 on average, while those from Europe passed away at 35 years of age. The reason? Unhealthy lifestyle, improper diet, drug addiction, and alcohol and substance abuse. In addition, part of the dilemma is living with the stress and anxiety associated with fame.

According to the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, drug and alcohol are the primary causes of many deaths of music stars, which accounted for one in every four deaths. Alcohol damages the body in many ways. It can affect the brain and can lead to poor coordination, faulty judgment, slowed reflexes, distorted vision, memory lapses, and blackouts. Alcohol can damage many organs in the body. It is absorbed directly in the bloodstream and raises the risk of acquiring life-threatening ailments like cancer. Extremely high doses of alcohol can even cause alcohol poisoning, coma, or even death.

It is a fact that many celebrities and music personalities are involved in the repeated and excessive use of drugs and substances. High doses of many illegal drugs can cause immediate life-threatening problems like heart attack, respiratory failure, and coma. The combination of drugs and alcohol are extremely dangerous. In addition, some drugs can have dangerous interactions with alcohol. The human body can only handle so many toxins at once, this is the reason why illegal drugs should not be taken with alcohol. There are times that drug can chemically interact with alcohol, when taken with alcohol it disperses faster in the bloodstream and take effect faster. These are the reasons why alcohol and drug overdose is one of the leading cause of death among music icons and many individuals.

The number of rock stars who died and are dying at a young age is cause of alarm for society because many artists are influential among children and young people. They want to be like them—the rock gods. The young people hero-worship them. They buy their albums, watch their concerts, and even try to dress like them. A lot young people want to be like rock stars. They want fame, money, and other expensive stuff. Young people of today want to be rock stars more than anything else. They want to sing loud songs, strum the guitars to produce loud music, and beat the drums real hard. The young people want to experience the euphoria that these rock icons claim they feel whenever they're on stage. Sad to say, all the fame, fortune, and money were not able to change the fact that many rock stars and music icons died early.

Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Kurt Cobain, and Michael Hutchence What went wrong? Were they overwhelmed by fame that they lost control of reality and turned to drugs and other banned substances? It is clear that these rock stars were not happy at all. Death in some ways make people more interesting and famous than they were still alive. However, dead rock stars are reminders of the pain and depression that may take place as side effects of fame.

Traffic-lights-24

Traffic Lights

One of the first things you learn when you learn to drive is how to read and react to the traffic lights. This is something that we actually learn at a very young age, though how to work with them is something that takes on a whole new meaning once you are behind the wheel. My daughter for the longest time said that red meant stop, green means go, and yellow means Greg. She’s a fan of the Wiggles, so the yellow comment didn’t surprise me too much.

When you drive, however, the traffic lights become something a little more complicated, especially when you come upon one when you are going fifty-five. That tricky yellow light has always been a problem for me. I don’t come up on traffic lights hoping to race through one, but I do hope to not have to stop. Don’t we all? The problem is that you never know when one is going to change, and you may be faced with slamming on the breaks or gliding through.

I was stopped just a few weeks ago when one of those tricky traffic lights turned yellow as I went around a bend. It’s not the best place for a light, but it has to be there. Once I saw that it had turned yellow, I had the choice of slamming on the breaks violently, or going through at the last minute. I went through, and much to my dismay, there was a police officer just waiting for someone like me to come along. Of all of the traffic lights in the city I was driving through, this one must have been the trickiest.

Thankfully, the officer let me go with a warning, but not without first asking me if I was sure I knew what traffic lights were for. I assured him I did, and he allowed me to go on my way. Ever since, I have been weary upon coming up on any lights, and I know that I could again get pulled over at any time, and this time I might indeed get a ticket. Traffic lights are there for safety, of course, and by all rights I should have gotten a ticket and I know it. Though not all people will learn a lesson when they are left with a warning from a friendly police officer, you can be sure that I have indeed learned to keep a closer eye on the traffic lights that I come upon each day as I drive.

Dog training basics it s a snap

Okay so dog training basics, well there is a lot to say but I will attempt to keep it brief. During my recent research into training my dog I found some every interesting information about dog training.

First of all it seems to be a generally accepted fact that a trained dog is a happy dog. Apparently dogs are like children in this way and crave rules and boundaries in the family unit. They like to know their place and what they are and are not allowed to do. This I found interesting, especially when this information was followed up with the information that much like children, dogs will test their boundaries with you to see what they can get away. I guess this makes sense when you think about it, especially when you realize that your dog actually does test your boundaries even after you have had him for 13 years. Each time you let him out he will run to the edge of where he is allowed to go and then look back to see if you are watching before contemplating whether or not to go further.

The second piece of information that seems to be universaly agreed upon is that the most important part of the dog training basics is praise. I have heard it stressed over and over again that the important thing with training your dog is not yelling at him/her when they do something wrong, but praising them when they do something right. While I understand this, it is basic positive reinforcement theory, I also wonder about not yelling at the dog when they do something wrong. It seems as though you want o show them the correct thing to do but is the dog really capable of comparing the two behaviors and realize that one is used in place of the other? It seems as though in order for them to cease to engage in the incorrect behavior you would need to reprimand them for it. However I guess this thought of mine is incorrect, which is why I recommend one of the many books available on dog training basics. It is hard to know what to do as the most logically response to a problem is not always the correct response.

Facts about dog agility

Dog agility trials are becoming more and more popular the world over. They began in England, as so many good things, do, but "agility fever" quickly spread all over the globe. Now there are clubs and events everywhere that there are dogs.

Some clubs include the Kennel Club (in the U. K.), the United States Dog Agility Association (USDAA), the American Kennel Club (AKC) and the Agility Association of Canada (AAC). However, you need not be affiliated with or even live near a club or training facility to enjoy the sport of dog agility

Dogs are intelligent creatures, and they love a challenge. As the aforementioned kennel clubs are well aware, every breed has its own strengths and assets, both physically and intellectually. It's great fun to explore what your dog can do, and even train for competitions!

Even if you train your dog on your own dog agility course, and don't wish to be affiliated with any groups, it's still a good idea to stay in touch with them via phone or e-mail to stay aware of any events that may be happening in your area. Dog owners are a great group of people, and love to share advice and success stories. Dog agility events are also a great way to get outside and meet and greet other great pets.

Agility competition for dogs became popular all over the world in the 1980s, and agility enthusiasts have been looking for top-notch dog training equipment that is better looking and more durable than home-made obstacles, while still being affordable. This high-energy form of competition and fun is something that can bring people and dogs together in a spirit of excellence, and we interact with our customers accordingly.

Some of the dog training obstacles include A-frames, dogwalks, weave poles, mini contact equipment, contact trainer, jumps (single, double, and triple), chutes, barrels, and teeters. Everything you need to set up a competition course should be easily ordered and quickly assembled.

Your dog training equipment should be durable enough to withstand practice session after practice session with no risk of injury to you or your dog. Equipment should be made out of durable, well-sealed materials that are weatherproof and built to last. Safety and visual appeal are what matter in dog training equipment.

Do you know someone suffering from phn

Most of us are familiar with Shingles, the painful and intense illness people sometimes call "the adult version of Chicken Pox." What is lesser known is that of the 800,000 Americans who develop Shingles this year, 20% will go on to experience Post Herpetic Neuralgia or PHN.

PHN is often a long-term illness that can cause extreme pain and sensitivity for years. One patient's skin was so sensitive that he couldn't button his shirt, ride in a car, or even sleep normally (he slept sitting up for an amazing six and a half years!).

Can we give patients a pill or a shot that will relieve or cure PHN? Sadly, no. This illness is very difficult to treat for several daunting reasons:

* Patients' nerves can be damaged by the Varicella-Zoster viruses. Damaged nerves lead to long-term problems.

* The viruses sometimes set up a chronic infection state in a patient's tissues and nerves, preventing complete healing from taking place. The infection can go on and on, sometimes for years, even when treated.

* Individual responses to various forms of treatment vary widely. What works for one person may not bring any improvement or relief for another person.

Dealing with this kind of pain for a long period of time can cause depression and sleep problems. Studies indicate that the same biochemicals that intensify pain can also cause and intensify depression. This depression is classified as reactive depression, and is reversible with treatment. It is quite different from endogenous depression which is caused by chemical imbalances. Understanding what is happening to you, and why, can go a long way in helping you to deal with it successfully. And of course, medical treatments can help even more.

Some years ago I developed a topical analgesic that helps relieve the pain of PHN. Thousands of patients have used it over the years to dramatically reduce their symptoms.

If you or someone you know is suffering from PHN, do all you can to educate them and yourself about effective treatments and nutrition. Through proper treatment, the effects of PHN can be far less devastating.

Graduation

Graduation

Graduation is a ceremony that takes place at many school institutions. It is to honor those that have worked hard to achieve a particular goal. Graduation from high school is often considered to be a milestone for many individuals. It marks the end of their regular school adventures. For some it is just the beginning of college life and for others they will choose another direction.

Graduation ceremonies can often be found for preschoolers as they move forward to regular school. Many schools also hold a small graduation ceremony for those that are moving from the junior high grade levels onto high school. The requirements for graduation are different for each institution based on their programs.

Colleges also have graduation ceremonies and they are often more elaborate than those for other levels. It depends on the style and size of the university. Many of them offer several programs and you will find a diverse age group of people celebrating their achievements.

There is a great deal of talking that takes place at a graduation ceremony. The top graduate of the class is the Valedictorian and has to give a motivational speech to the rest of the class. It is traditional for graduates to wear a cap and gown of the school colors for the event. Each graduate will have their name called and walk across the stage to receive their diploma.

Graduation is a time to share your achievements with family and friends. Due to the amount of limited space some graduations give out tickets to the students. Those that want to see the ceremony must have a ticket to get in. others are open door and anyone can attend. It can be hard to choose who can attend and who will just congratulate you after the event takes place.

Most graduates will send out announcements to tell other people about what will be taking place. An announcement is not an invitation to the ceremony though so if you want them to attend please include a personal note. If you are having a dinner or a party after the event that you want them to attend include that information as well. You can order personalized graduation invitations that have all of this information in them as well.

Business ethics

A business of any kind, whether online or on-site (“real world”), can be like navigating a mine field, especially where ethics are concerned, so some knowledge of law and a certain degree of fair-mindedness are necessary to conduct business professionally and equitably. Ethics keep business practices well-grounded and focused on what is really important; that is, the customers’ needs and wants come first.

Entrepreneurs must keep themselves informed on the terms of service and the interests of the population. This will allow customers to make informed and therefore confident purchases. No one likes business ventures that are oblivious to what is going on around them or that are behind-in-the-times; shoppers are not likely to feel comfortable with the judgment of those who have absolutely no clue or are doubtful regarding what’s expected and required to satisfactorily answer shoppers’ questions. Deception, or “pulling stuff out of one’s butt,” will not suffice; businesses are likely to be more successful when they stay on top of the research so they can offer honest and current feedback to everyone who needs it. Business representatives who can’t assist shoppers are useless. Taking this extra effort shows shoppers that businesses really do care about the customers.

Fair prices are always the best way to go. Despite what many business owners might think, providing services and merchandise at higher rates will not necessarily guarantee a profit; on the contrary, such outrageous costs will only drive the shoppers to go elsewhere and the business will ultimately lose money. When businesses compare given products offered by various competitors and then set appropriate prices, customers see that said businesses are cognizant of what typical shoppers are able and willing to to pay. In the long run, operations will be consistent or gradually growing, and profits foreseeable.

Honesty is the best policy, as the saying goes. Many think that’s a crock, but, in actuality, it isn’t. Those who are open and straightforward about their intentions and offer quality services and merchandise will inevitably find themselves in a successful venture. Why? Simple: shoppers and returning customers will know that businesses that play honestly and fair value them, and the trust factor is increased exponentially. Customers are not stupid, and so they should not be treated as such. Eventually, all underhanded schemes are discovered one way or another, and the scarred reputation that businesses acquire from such bad dealings will eventually lead to a downfall.

There are many ethical situations that lead behavior in business every single day. Knowing what they are and letting them lead the way through every circumstance will make interactions easier and more fulfilling. Such honesty and integrity will always leave a pleasant, trusting and indelible impression on everyone involved.

Why is parkinson s disease difficult to diagnose

While Parkinson's disease has very distinctive features, it is rather a difficult disease to identify, particularly while it is in its early stages. Unfortunately there are no precise tests, which doctors can do to establish an exact diagnosis of Parkinson's disease and regrettably especially in its early stages it might be mistaken for other diseases. If and when this happens, it delays or prevents the appropriate action being administered in the quickest feasible time.

The trouble with diagnosing Parkinson's disease accurately is just that the symptoms are not always as clear as doctors would like them to be, Actually there are suggestions that up to 25% of those people presently being treated for Parkinson's disease might have been wrongly diagnosed and are thus getting inappropriate treatment.

Generally patients that are suspected of suffering from Parkinson's disease are given tests to guarantee they are certainly not suffering from an illness that can be diagnosed using common methods such as CT scanning, urine sampling X-ray and blood tests etc. However just because these tests may have an inconclusive answer, it doesn't always mean the person is definitely suffering from Parkinson's disease. Regrettably some doctors think this is the case, and will automatically offer a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.

Tests that can be carried out to test for Parkinson's disease involve systematic neurological assessments that comprise testing the person's reflexes, balance, muscle strength walk and common movement. Because there are a range of neurological disorders that have similar characteristics to Parkinson's disease, it's not very surprising that Parkinson's disease is so regularly misdiagnosed. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, it doesn't always hurt to ask your doctor for a second opinion or even better to request to be referred to a physician who specialises in this kind of disease.

An early accurate diagnosis of Parkinson's disease is normally the key to the sufferer being able to preserve their independence and a decent quality of life for fairly a long time.

Some neurological conditions that are regularly confused with Parkinson's disease include: -

Multiple system atrophy

Supranuclear palsy

Benign Essential Tremor

Multiple Sclerosis

Huntington's disease

Striato-Nigral Degeneration

Brain tumour

Remaining as independent as feasible is vital to the wellbeing of most sufferers of Parkinson's disease, and ensuring the symptoms are kept to a minimum by both an accurate diagnosis and treatment is the key to achieving this.

Fiber optic cable otdr basics

Fiber optic communication systems have become more of a challenge for network operators to strategically and promptly keep them running at top performance in order to meet intense demands for reliable services. Many operators will go through a rigorous fiber optic training course. As the fiber optic communication systems evolve, there become newer and more complex parameters to monitor, more links to install and maintain, and more expected disruptions to track down. A new function in the primary test tool for fiber optic cable plants is the Optical Time Domain Reflectometer, or OTDR. The OTDR is an instrument that uses the inner back scattering properties of an optical fiber to detect and categorize its condition by sending high power pulses of laser light down into the fiber and capture the light that is reflected back. This new tool is of great significance for fiber optic technicians. Fiber optic patch cables are another way to provide the correct amount of light.

Software enhancements are reshaping OTDR testing with potent new data processing capabilities that allow even the least experienced operator to analyze the fiber optics quickly and completely, and to find subtle features easily. While OTDR concepts are basically simple, precise measurements can be complicated. Reflected fiber optical power is a tiny fraction (of basically one-millionth) of transmitted pulse power that eminently varies with wavelength, cable length, fiber optic backscatter co-efficient, along with splice and connector attributes.

Measurement parameters of fiber optics under test have to be carefully selected based on mode, length and attenuation, in order to optimize fiber optic measurements with an older, manual OTDR. The optimal parameters for all fibers, in exception for the shortest optical fibers, vary in relation to the distance of the event from the instrument. The newest OTDR instruments integrate software programs that automatically detect and configure the optimum test parameters and show results in simple formats.

Most fiber optic cables require multiple OTDR measurements by using different parameters to completely and accurately characterize their property ties. These types of tests can take more time than is acceptable during a network emergency or a lengthy commissioning process. When troubleshooting the close-range resolution versus long-range visibility, several sets of waveforms must be acquired by using different OTDR settings as often as necessary. After completing the first scan by using a short-duration optical pulse, the next scan will use a longer-duration optical pulse to provide additional optical power to test further along the optical fiber.

Newer OTDR's incorporate built-in testing programs that automatically characterize the fiber optics in a sequential manner, starting from the instrument-to-fiber connection and working outward. Such programs automatically determine which parameters need to change, based on criteria like signal-to-noise-ratio, length, total loss and elapsed time. They may also increase the number of averages, change the filtering, or adjust the gain of the detection circuitry in order to optimize the test results for each specific cable segment. Many other software enhancements have been introduced to the acquisition , analysis and archiving of fiber optical test data, making the OTDR an even more valuable asset for technicians to meet the challenges of supporting fiber optic cable plants.

Mobile phone buying guide

Cell phones are now on the threshold of triggering several technological revolutions in just one go!

The early cell phone was a simple but heavy and large hand-held telephonic device that came with an antenna that could be pulled out to for a better reception. However, today cell phones are light weight, slim, small, and pretty looking and have built in antennas that offer clear reception and enhanced voice quality.

Because cell phones are so easy to use and portable they have become the choice of most callers, and more so for those who are on the move frequently. Cell phones can be defined as low-power, two-ways radios having a single channel that facilitates communication.

If you are interested in buying a mobile phone, you need to know some of the most important features of the gadget. Let’s take a look at how you can buy and save on mobile phones.

While the starting price for mobile phones is as low as under $20.00, there are many others that boast of unique technologies and remarkable and revolutionary designs and cost over $400-$500. With such variation in price, it becomes extremely difficult to find a mobile phone that offers you everything you need (including features you don’t need) and more. However, if you don’t require some features that are part of the service you have opted for, you can simply request your mobile service provider or MSP to cancel the additional features and make substantial savings.

Here are the three most important things you need to ask yourself before buying a mobile phone:

1. Why do you need a mobile phone?

2. What are the key features that you require?

3. What kind of accessories do you need?

Why do you need a mobile phone?

For many people a mobile phone is a status symbol. Some people even change mobile phones as often as they change their clothes, while a few others prefer to have a mobile handset that is simple to operate and easy to pocket. Depending on the type of user you think you are, you need to sit down and make a list of things you want to do using your mobile phone. Armed with this list you can now surf the internet and pick some handsets that match your list of requirements.

Essentially, there are three types of users and they are:

Only want to make and take calls. For these users cheap mobile phones with basic features are the most suitable. A basic handset will allow you to make and take calls, access your voicemail, send and receive text messages, besides offer you features such as calculator, alarm, ringtones, address book, calendar, games etc. These phones will help you contain your bill but may limit the choice of mobile phones. You also may not be able to access internet on your mobile phone. Some such models are: Sony Ericsson W850i, Motorola KRZR K1, and Nokia 3110.

Exploiting technologies to their benefit, these users are the second type and usually prefer mid-range cell phones. Now, more than ever before there are many technologies that can be found in mobile handsets. These help a savvy user communicate in more ways than just mere speech. Also, features such as digital cameras are now standard for most mobile phones and allow people the convenience that greatly outweighs the low image quality belted out by these mobile cams. Further on, a color screen makes the experience of playing games more exciting and interesting. Mobile phones belonging to this range include other important features such as WAP, Video shooting, Multimedia Messaging or MMS, Radios, MP3 Players, and voice recording etc. Some mobile phones belonging to this category include: Sony Ericsson W880i, Nokia 6300, and Sony Ericsson K810i.

Portable Office users always prefer mobile phones that are top-of-the-range and feature-packed. If you are an executive on the go who need to be connect to his/her office while away from it, these hi-end mobile phones are made with you in mind. Also known as Smartphone these mobile phones allow you to do so many things that it can be a bit overwhelming initially. From taking images and sending them to your friends instantly, you can even print your images from your mobile phone! Take video phone calls, access TV channels, watch the news on the go, and enjoy a host of other facilities at the tips of your fingers. Moreover, you can connect your Smartphone with your PDA or laptop or desktop and access data, or co-ordinate activities whenever required.

Finally, don't let the look of the mobile phone fool you; always consider all factors before you buy a mobile phone!

Financing your staffing agency

As a staffing agency owner, your biggest concern is making sure your employees get paid on time - always. In this article, we’ll discuss a tool that will help you get the funds to meet payroll every time. We’ll also talk about a financing tool that will let you take on new contracts, even those that you think are too big and can’t possibly afford to win. This financing tool is easy to qualify for (it’s NOT a business loan), can be set up in days and can give you all the necessary funding your staffing agency needs.

This tool is called invoice factoring, and also referred to as receivable factoring. This financing is not offered by a bank, but rather by a factoring company.

If you are like most agency owners, your problem is not lack of work or customers. I am sure you have plenty of both. Your biggest problem is that your customers take between 30 and 60 days to pay their invoices. But, your employees need to be paid weekly (or bi-weekly). And unless you have a fat bank account, the math does not work. Sooner or later, you’ll run out of money.

But what if you could eliminate slow paying clients? No, I don’t mean that you should stop doing business with them. I mean, what if you could turn them into quick paying clients? What would happen to your business if every client was guaranteed (yes, guaranteed!) to pay you in 2 business days? How many of those clients could you take?

Let me have a guess. You could take as many of those clients as you could get your hands on.

By factoring your staffing agency receivables, you can turn your slow paying invoices into quick paying invoices. The process is simple:

1. You do your work, as usual. You bill your customer but then submit a copy of the invoice to the factoring company for financing

2. The factoring company provides you an immediate advance on 90% of the invoice. You can use that money to meet payroll and pay expenses

3. The factoring company waits to get paid by your customer

4. Once they are paid, they rebate the remaining 10%, less their fees

The main requirement for factoring is that you do business with good paying customers. If your customers pay regularly (but slowly) you can almost always qualify. And as opposed to a business loan, your personal credit is usually not an issue.

So, if you own a growing staffing company, be sure to consider invoice factoring.

Can you increase sales without working overtime

Increasing sales is how many companies stay in business. But in order to do so, you and your team probably have to spend more hours at the office than you would like. This means fewer days off for vacation, and less free time to spend with friends and family. But there are ways to increase sales without having to work eighty hours a week. The key is to focus your advertising on groups that are sure to be interested in your products. Once you have found these groups, your sales will increase. This means fewer cold calls and less time spent trying to draw interest in your company.

Creating a web site your first step. With a web site, you can make sales during the time when your office is closed. Many people shop online these days and use the Internet to get information about goods and services. If you include your phone number or email address, you will not have to make as many cold calls as you used to. People who want to make an appointment to see you can do so online. If you are selling products, customers will be able to order what they want and have their order shipped to their homes.

The second step is to advertise your web site to niche groups. These are groups of people who will be very interested in visiting your web site. You can find these groups through open forums, blogs, other web sites, and by writing press releases, articles, and paying for ads. Rather than advertise anywhere, choose specific web sites to post ads. Include back links so you will be found by search engines. This will increase your web ranking.

The third step is to advertise in traditional ways including newspapers, magazines, billboards, and direct mail. If you have created an email opt-in list on your site, you can use the addresses to start an email direct mail campaign. Create a newsletter, send discounts, or send new product descriptions. This will attract repeat sales and also help you attract new business.

If you follow all of these tips and begin relying more on the Internet, you have to spend less time marketing your business. Take advantage of everything the Internet has to offer in terms of free and paid advertising. Once you start building brand name recognition, you will be able to reach more people and increase your customer base. Those eighty hour work weeks will begin to cease and your staff will feel much better about their work situation. Decreasing the time spent marketing your business will allow you to spend more time developing products, writing content, and making more connections in the business world.

Understanding fly fishing targets on flowing water

When it comes to fly fishing, the jargon can get a bit overwhelming if you let it. Here’s the plain English scoop on some common terms used.

Understanding Fly Fishing Targets On Flowing Water

Fly fishing is many things to many people. For some, it is a zen like way to interact with nature. For others, it is test of skill in the act of competing with tricky little fish. For yet others, it is a ballet of artistic movements and techniques to obtain the perfect cast for the perfect fly placement that produces the perfect catch. For most, it is just good, clean fun. Whatever your preference, fly fishing has a definite language you will need to learn.

Traditionally, fly fishing takes place on flowing water such as a river or stream. There are variations for lake or ocean destinations, but they represent a minority. Given this fact, following is an explanation of some of the terms associated with traditional fly fishing.

A “riffle” is an area with fast moving water broken up over some solid structure, most often rocks. A rifle can be an excellent location to cast for a number of reasons. The riffle tends to be an area where insects congregate. Where there are insects, there are fish. In particular, try to cast to areas just downstream of blockages as your catch should be residing in such locations.

A “pool” is an area where fast flowing water enters a deeper pool of water. Often found just after riffles, a pool offers little in the way of prospecting in the interior. It does, however, offer excellent prospects in the areas where water flows in. More than a few species of fish feed at such locations as the water flowing into the pool brings food and nutrients with it.

“Dead water” refers to an area where there is little or no current. This tends to occur in odd geographic areas, large rivers or areas with flow problems. Dead water is rarely a good place to fish, so avoid it like the plague.

Although not a term per se, vegetation that grows out into the water and shady shoreline locations are often excellent places to fish. These locations offer the combination of shade and nutrients, which are popular with fish. When referring to shade, it is important to understand that fish are not generally worried about sunburns. Instead, they are worried about dive bombing birds such as Osprey. A fish that cruises along the top of a pool of water in direct sunlight tends to have a very short life span.

Obviously, the above represents a small sampling of terminology related to rivers and moving areas. Nonetheless, you will at least know why so many anglers talk about riffles.

Romantic meals on a budget

Food and romance go hand in hand. But, if you’re on a budget, you don’t need to spend a lot of money to show your sweetie that you love him. You can have a romantic meal at home – for the cost of a regular meal. The food you choose is not nearly as important as the atmosphere you create. You could easily make a very romantic meal from pizza or sandwiches if you take the time to create the perfect ambiance in the room.

Choose your main dish according to your partner's favorite dishes. There's no point in feeding him something he dislikes. Plus, an upset stomach is not very romantic, so take his food preferences into account when planning.

Appetizers are a great way to dress up any meal. Some favorite romantic additions include asparagus, artichokes, oysters, black beans, strawberries, and chocolate.

The presentation of your meal is more important than the foods you serve. Keep things simple and mix flavors and textures, giving the meal contrast and different shapes. Plan ahead and prepare everything you can in advance so that your final meal preparation goes quickly. Romantic foods can include almost anything if you serve the meal with soft candlelight and music.

Here are some additional tips to plan that perfect romantic meal:

Decorate your table with tall candles and inexpensive flowers placed in a glass vase.

Add a pretty tablecloth and cloth napkins to add elegance to your romantic meal.

Fold your napkins into decorative shapes and use napkin holders made from colorful paper with romantic massages or poetry written on the paper.

Use your best dishes or simply purchase 2 plates in a discount or thrift store.

Strawberries dipped in chocolate are not only yummy, but they are very romantic.

Purchase inexpensive fortune cookies with romantic fortunes inside for a little excitement if you desire.

Use your imagination instead of your credit cards to create a romantic meal that neither of you will soon forget. You’ll be able to relax and enjoy your romantic meal, knowing that you aren’t going into debt enjoying it.

Better have file cabinets than clutter

If you have tried locating a misplaced piece of paper for hours and have not succeeded or if you have scoured the stack of files locating one single document and was frustrated, this article is for you.

The most common error for misplacing an object is dropping it at a place that is convenient during the time. A regular space for keeping important objects and documents makes it easier for anyone to locate them when the need to remember them arises.

This is why filing cabinets are special tools for safekeeping that when used regularly is the best way to track documents and important objects not only at work but also at home. A good filing system can save you hours and even money, without which would otherwise have been frustrating.

Filing cabinets are constant fixtures in any workplace that requires safekeeping and tracking of documents despite the rise in the electronic data keeping systems. Choosing one will require more than just deciding on the number drawers. There are subtle differences in filing cabinets that are adapted to particular requirements.

The two main types of filing cabinets

The vertical file cabinet is the traditional type where you can have anywhere from two to five drawers. The drawers are designed to fit the legal sized files and are stored facing the front of the drawers. Vertical file cabinets are space savers that make them the preferred choice in offices where rents are at a premium.

The other option, although not as commonly used are the lateral type files cabinet. These file cabinet types are much wider than standard designs. The files can be stored side to side or front to back. The design is not as deep as the vertical file cabinets that it can also be used as a wall partition or a wall divider. The lateral file cabinets have more versatility in terms of file storage and takes up less wall space.

The quality of the file cabinet is also one area that is to be given good attention. The best way to examine the quality of the file cabinet is the suspension system. A good file cabinet has strong suspensions that enable it to carry weights and still close and open smoothly. Some file cabinets have built in safety features that allow only the opening of one drawer at a time. Usually safety feature includes counterweights or internal locking devices. File cabinets that do not have this feature can accidentally tip over when all the drawers at the upper part are open.

Good file cabinets have to be built to take some abuse. It is important then that file cabinets be made of quality and thicker metals so that it protects the internal parts preventing it to be easily damaged.

Because of the valuable material that could be stored in a file cabinet, many are made to be fire and impact resistant. Fire resistant cabinet can maintain inside temperatures less than 350 degrees (most paper burns upward of 350 degrees Fahrenheit) enough to prevent the burning of its content even when outside temperature rises to 1700 degrees.

File cabinets depending on the feature, design, materials and number of drawers are priced starting from $20 to about $1,800 dollars for the top of the line option.

File cabinets also come today in designs and color that are veering away from the traditional types. Newer file cabinets can no longer be the ugly steely types of cabinets. They can come in a variety of decorative colors, materials and designs that can be blended with your furnishings.

How to cope with anticipatory grief

Anticipatory grief is the name given to the mix of emotions experienced when we are living in expectation of loss and grieving because of it. Anticipatory Grief is particularly relevant to those who have received a terminal diagnosis and for those who love and care for them.

Terminal diagnosis changes the very structure of our existence, takes away our control and our ability to hope and plan for the future. When someone we love is given a terminal illness, we become painfully aware of the fragility of life and may even fear for our own mortality.

Living in expectation of death, causes us to experience many of the symptoms and emotions of the grief suffered when a loved one has actually died, including; shock, anger, denial, physical and emotional pain, helplessness and sorrow. Depression is common and changes in eating, sleeping and bowel habits may also occur.

Prognosis increases our turmoil; it is inevitable that we begin counting down the days to the estimated time of demise and see the dawn of each day as bringing us closer to it. Some may feel a sense of surreal ness and an inability to fit back into the pattern of life prior to diagnosis, this often intensified by the reaction of friends and acquaintances, who may be dealing with their own shock and dismay at the news and not knowing what to do or say, avoid us.

It may be some time before we can truly accept that our loved one is dying and during this time we may experience alternate periods of acceptance and denial. Often, necessity brings about acceptance for the Carer as they need to make decisions regarding the best options available for the care of their loved ones. The patient however, may choose not to accept the prognosis and it is important for the carer to recognise and support their need to live in hope of a cure. Hope is paramount to quality of life for their loved one and may even contribute to their longer survival.

Whether our grief is anticipatory or grief due to the death of a loved one, there is a very real need to talk to someone about the roller coaster of emotions we are experiencing. This however is not always easy to do, due to a number of reasons which may include; trying to remain strong for the patient, trying to remain strong for the children, trying to put on a brave face for other family members and friends.

Counselling, though readily available, is resisted by many, who believe that no one could possibly understand what they are feeling, nor do anything about the outcome. Speaking from my own experience of anticipatory grief due my husband’s terminal illness, I initially had these feelings and it was with some trepidation that I went to my first counselling session. Upon hearing my story, the counselling cried, further strengthening my opinion that she could not possibly help me. I was mistaken; after a few visits I began to see the benefit of these sessions and looked forward to seeing her each week. Here, for a short time at least, I could stop acting as if everything was okay – when nothing was okay, here I could take off my brave face and let my defences down.

The only trouble with counselling is that it may not always be available when you need it. I highly recommend keeping a personal diary for these occasions. During the two years of my husbands terminal illness, my diary was without a doubt, my strongest coping tool, I wrote in it daily, often in the form of poetry, pouring my anger, my fear and my heartache on to the pages. Periodically, I would read back through it and through this I came to know myself very well - later I could see my strength coming through.

Excerpts and poems from my diary now form a major part of my book “Lean on Me” Cancer through a Carer’s Eyes.

HOW TO READ FOREX PRICE CHARTS?

Forex Price Charts, what DO they mean and HOW to use them?

Important numerous facts as discipline, trading rules, not being greedy etc., but one of the most important things is:

LEARN to read the charts as Charts represent the lifeblood of the market.

I admit that reading charts, and interpreting patterns, are more an art than a skill. Base and apply your entry and exit decisions on YOUR OWN combined methods of technical and fundamental analysis.

FOREX charts, are easier to interpret and to use. They reflect a slower moving, stable economy of a country, compared to the stock market, with its daily drama of company reports, Wall Street Analysts and shareholder demands.

Unlike stocks, currency charts do not spend much time in trading ranges and have the tendency to develop strong trends. Furthermore, Forex with its 4 Mayor currencies is easier to analyze than tens of thousands of stocks.

(Mayor currencies are: USD/JPY, EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/CHF)

The complimentary FREE live charting software, with the ultimate cutting edge technology provided by http://www. fenixcapitalmanagement. com/ , will be absolutely sufficient for you to analyze and watch any one currency pair. Understanding just a few basic points about the technical analysis of currency chart can lead to increased profit potential.

Pricing - Price reflects the perceptions and action taken by the market participants. It is the dealing between buyers and sellers in the Over-The-Counter (OTC) or “interbank” market that creates price movement. Therefore, all fundamental factors are quickly discounted in price. By studying the price charts, you are indirectly seeing the fundamental and market psychology all at once , after all the market is fed by two emotions - Greed and Fear – and once you understand that, then you begin to understand the psychology of the market and how it relates to the chart patterns.

Data Window Chart – FCM and most online charting stations, when you click on a price bar or candlestick, it will display a small box of data usually called a display window which will contain the following items:

H = Highest Price

L = Lowest Price

O = Opening Price

C = Close Price (or Last Price)

The most common types of price bars, used in FOREX trading, are the Bar Chart and the Candlestick chart:

Bars Charts -

Price bars are a linear representation (a line) of a period of time. This enables the viewer to see a graphic representation summarizing the activity of a specific time frame. As an example, I use 10 minutes, 60 minutes and daily time interval for my systems. Each bar has similar characteristics and tells the viewer several important pieces of information.

First, the highest point of the bar represents the highest price that was achieved during that time period. The lowest point of the bar represents the lowest price during the same period. Regular bars display a small dot on the left side of the bar which represents the opening price of the period and the small dot on the right side represents the closing price of the period.

Candlesticks - Japanese Candlesticks, or simply Candlesticks as they are now known, are used to represent the same information as Price bars. The only difference is that the difference between the open and close form the body of a box which is displayed with a color inside. A red color means that the close was lower than the open, and the blue color represents that the close was higher than the open.

If the box has a line going up from the box it represents the high and is called the wick. If the box has a line going down from the box, it represents the low and is called the tail.

Many interpretations can be made from these "candlesticks" and many books have been written on the art of interpreting these bars.

Chart Intervals & Time Frames:

A chart Time Scale & Period, or time frame, basically refers to the duration of time that passes between the OPEN and the CLOSE of a bar or candlestick.

For instance, with your broker software, you will be able to view a currency pair, in a 1-hour time frame over a 2-day period, 5-day period, 10-day period, 20-day period and 30- day period.

Most of the short-term time intervals (5-min and 1-min charts) are used for entry and exit points and the longer - term time intervals (1-hour and daily charts) are used to see where the general trend is.

Pro or no taxes and the home business

The Internal Revenue Service has its hands full every April when Uncle Sam holds his hand out with his fingers gently waving towards himself saying, "Show me the money." At that same time Certified Public Accountants burn the midnight fluorescent bulb with the hopes of finding pleasing results for ignorant clients. Across town in the basement of an office, which his children affectionately call "the dungeon," the typical home business owner fiercely rubs his own brow in the hopes of finding just one more deduction. Tax season has arrived.

The typical home business owner stresses out more in April than in any other season. Christmas, when his business may be booming and orders come in faster than he can write them down, or summer when his clients are demanding things that no sane person would demand in the midst of gorgeous, sunny days that call his name almost audibly to come and play-both of these seasons pale in comparison to April. The home business owner has two basic options and one non-negotiable choice to make regarding taxes.

First and foremost, we must consider the non-negotiable choices, which in and of itself is an oxymoron. He must pay his taxes. While nothing might please him more than just relaxing in April, listening to the pitter-patter of spring rain and thinking about the tulips pushing their delicates leaves through his moistened soil, he must pay his taxes. Though he dreams about finding Uncle Sam in person and simply telling him where to put his blankety-blank forms, he must pay his taxes. And though he wants nothing more than to just forget that he had an incredible year with oodles of income that means his family can now take that coveted vacation to Disney World, he must pay his taxes.

After all, history has shown him the results of those who do not pay their taxes. Al Capone, for example, ordered executions of some of his own men who betrayed him. He ran black market liquor operations in the midst of prohibition, and yet what did police finally send him to prison with? Tax evasion. Consider this: if Capone had simply done what every home business owner curses about every 12 months, he could have gone on with his luxurious, whacking-the-other-guy life. Business owners, good and bad, must pay their taxes.

Home business owners then have a basic choice once they move past the non-negotiable decision of whether or not to pay in the first place. Who will file their taxes? Will they turn to a Certified Public Accountant, the lady or guy down the street that actually obtained a degree and passed an extensive, written exam focused on just this sort of thing, or will they consider a box with a silver disc that tells them how to file? Their choice will ultimately determine a couple of things. First, it will determine how much they will pay in taxes. Second, it will determine if the IRS will flag them as suspicious and demand an audit, which will mean at least another month of stress. Certainly both the CPA and the cardboard box have their benefits.

Regardless of what the home business owner chooses, he should take care to save every receipt possible throughout the year. When he does this, taxes become less of a burden regardless of who does the filing. If he chooses to file, he will have the necessary documentation when he wants to deduct that package of Bic pens that he bought back in May. If he chooses the CPA, then the CPA will have the necessary documentation. Ultimately, it does not matter who does the taxes at this point, because either party needs the receipt.

Taxes clearly burden the business owner. However, we all must pay them, business owner or not. In the end, the final burden rests on the one who writes the check, thus business owners must consider their options carefully to see who can help them retain the most profit.

Translating company collateral to powerpoint

As a PowerPoint user, it is sometimes necessary to accurately translate a company's marketing collateral to slide format. Often, this information arrives in the format of a company brochure, or copied blurbs from the website, or a long Word document bogged down with New Age sales jargon and irrelevant "stuffer" copy.

It is your job to find the needles of information in the haystacks of hype, to reduce lengthy paragraphs to mere phrases, to provide your audience with only the information they need to know. Brevity is your goal, bullet points your craft.

When tackling these projects, which can be nothing short of arduous for lengthy documents spread across multi-page presentations, there are some best practices and tactics to make your life easier and the final product better.

1. Read the content several times. Sometimes it takes a few takes to understand exactly what is being said, especially if the copy is technical in nature. This step is especially critical for freelancers, who might not be as familiar with the corporate messaging as an in-house designer or marketing support person.

2. Print the document out and read it from paper. This can help comprehension, and makes it easy to highlight passages or make notes.

3. Highlight key passages. Look for "power words." These are the words or phrases that pop off the page, are descriptive, and reinforce the message with color and purpose. Use these words in your PowerPoint slides. For instance:

"In the past year, the company sales team has achieved a ten percent increase in numbers, well beyond initial projections. Leveraging our recently implemented database, profit margins continue to rise despite several personnel additions and our office expansion initiative."

Could be:

* 10% in sales over last year

* Better than projections

* Profits rise despite expansion

4. Bullets are always better than full sentences. They are punctual and easy to digest. Never use full paragraphs unless you specifically want your audience to not read what you have to say.

5. Trim copy to get to the core message. Eliminate frivolous and clichйd marketing speak like "leverage existing technology" and "innovative solutions." These weak strings of buzzwords barely meant anything when they were first published, and the only response they elicit now is the glazing over of your audience's eyes.

6. Find the numbers and take advantage of them! People like to see numbers -- they are easy facts to understand, and give meaning to ambiguous phrases. It is always better to say "Our sales this month are 25% more than a year ago at this time" than "Our sales have increased over the last year." Also, use actual numbers like "25%" rather than "twenty-five percent." It saves space and gives the text more punch.

Oily skin how you get it

Oily skin is a phenomenon that tens of thousands of different people living in the world are familiar with and probably hundreds of thousands more might not even realize they have. If you have oily skin, then there are a number of ways that it can be treated but before you treat it, figuring out the cause of the symptom is probably a good idea to do. This is because if you know what the cause is, then you will know the best way to tackle the problem of actually dealing with it. While most methods will work in terms of actually controlling the symptom of oily skin, the larger condition needs to be treated in a way that has the cause of the problem in mind. With that said, here are some of the more frequent culprits in causing oily skin.

Bad Genes

Oily skin is actually not automatically a bad thing, but most doctors will still refer to the cause as having bad genes rather than calling it a hereditary cause. If your parents had this type of condition as well, then there is a good chance that they can pass it on to you. A number of things have been discovered to be genetic and oily skin happens to be one of those things.

Diet

There are a number of things in terms of the diet that you choose that can actually affect the level of fluids and oil secreted by the pores in your skin. If you have a diet that is low in protein and leafy green vegetables while at the same time being high in things like sugar, then through your lifestyle choice you are encouraging the type of oily secretions that are typically characterized as one of the main nuisances associated with an oily skin condition.

Hormone Levels

There are a number of different hormone levels that can affect whether or not you have oily skin and of course the hormone levels can be altered by various life events. Puberty can be an example of something that tends to lead to hormonal imbalances that can be a result of oily skin and at the other end of the spectrum as well menopause is another event that can create hormonal imbalances of a different kind that can also result in the same type of condition.

Pregnancy

Hot on the heels of the hormonal level shifts is the idea of pregnancy. Pregnancy is actually a subset of the hormonal level shift idea but at the same time it deserves its own mention here because so many of you will be likely to read articles on oily skin specifically because you are experiencing it as a result of pregnancy. A number of rapid changes occur in the body during pregnancy and while oily skin is a result of those changes and is often overlooked, if you happen to be pregnant and are experiencing those symptoms for the first time then there is a very good chance that one event has led straight to the other.

Use of Birth Control Pills

As you may already know, a lot of different things relating to getting pregnant and the pregnancy itself are caused by changes in hormones that occur when a woman is ovulating as well as when she gets pregnant. Birth control works in a way that partially changes the way in which those hormones work and while birth control pills are effective for preventing pregnancy, at the same time there is also the potential for them to cause symptoms such as oily skin. This form of the symptom is usually not that intense, but at the same time it is definitely a possibility.

Bad credit - some solutions

So, you’ve established the reasons for your poor credit rating. Now how can you go about fixing the problem?

Correcting Any Mistakes

If you disagree with the facts that the credit reference agency has on your file, you can dispute them. If the information is inaccurate, your record can be amended. The agency can’t change things just because you aren’t happy about it.

Re-applying

Be wary of making too many applications if you’ve been recently turned down for credit – every refusal will show on your record and count as another black mark against you. A better approach is to re-assess your finances, make a plan to tackle your debts, and apply again in a few months time.

Credit Repair Companies

There are companies who claim to be able to remove information from your credit file. Other than correcting inaccurate information, which you can do yourself, this not possible.

Debt Solutions

There are plenty of organisations to help you get a handle on your finances and manage debts. If the problem is out of hand, borrowing more money is not likely to be the best solution. You need to take advice from an independent, trustworthy source, such as a Citizen’s Advice Bureau or the National Debtline (www. nationaldebtline. co. uk). (The Debtline has separate pages for England & Wales and Scotland, as the law differs between the countries.) They provide a helpline, as well as fact sheets on how to deal with debt problems.

Often the first solution to managing your debt is to make a budget, listing all your debts and debtors. You should prioritise, and aim to pay off either the most important debts, like rent or bills, or the ones with the highest interest rates, such as credit cards with high APRs. If there are debts that you can’t afford to pay right now, you should contact your creditors and explain the situation. If you offer to make small, regular payments over a period of time they might be willing to be more flexible.

If you have a number of debts on which the interest is high, it might be a good idea to consolidate these. Arrange an appointment with your bank manager and discuss converting credit cards and overdrafts into a loan. You may get a lower interest rate, and it will simplify your monthly repayments while reducing the overall amount you owe with every instalment.

Woodworking jigs that guide with precision

The average do-it-yourself homeowner has only had to experience once cutting or drilling without a jig to know the value of a good woodworking jig. It makes for a frustrating experience when holes get drilled too deeply or picture frame moulding doesn’t square up during the final gluing and nailing stages. Then, of course, there have been the disastrous routing or dovetail cuts that just don’t measure up in the end. The solution to this and any woodworking problem is to have the right jig available.

Jigs do not need to be fancy or expensive. Often you can create your own jig for smaller jobs. However, if you are a steady hobbyist or use woodworking in your profession, it is well worth investing in a good assortment of jigs. The time savings alone is worth it, but you will also save countless dollars in ruined wood.

The Short List of Jigs Long on Performance

If you only have a few basic items to add to your workshop this year, consider the following short list of must-have jigs.

A dowel jig, for example, allows you to cut dowel holes to precision diameters and widths. This is ideal in furniture making where dowels can hold together drawer fronts to the frame or for inserting tight-fitting legs into tables and chairs.

Another furniture making jig you must have is the dovetail jig. Dovetail jigs give drawers the professional touch. If you have ever looked at a bureau that is at least 50 or more years old, you will see that the old way of doing things was to dovetail drawers. These fine pieces of furniture are around today for a reason! Dovetailing drawers makes them durable and keeps them functioning for decades, even centuries. Couple your dovetail jig with a dovetail job, and you can create furniture like the masters of long ago.

Router jigs can support wood as it passes through the saw creating the fine, even ornate detailing of truly professional woodworking projects. The bevelled edges of table tops and drawer faces are created accurately for each side of the wood using a router jig.

Kreg – The Leader in Jig Creations

The Kreg jig is a fine example of form meeting function.

The Kreg set usually come with face clamps to support these precision drill jigs. With the Kreg jig you can drill to specific depths and hole sizes for perfectly fitting matches.

One trick to use if you don’t have a jig on hand in the middle of a drilling job is functional, if not fancy. Try taping a thick band of masking tape around the drill bit at the desired depth. Then as you are drilling you will be able to see where to stop putting on the pressure. It works, even though it isn’t quite as precise! That kind of quick solution is fine if you are just doing the occasional woodworking job, but for less frustration (it can be hard to get the gooey tape off the drill bit) and more precision, professional grade jigs are the only way to go.

Deep sea fishing for redfish in maine

The redfish, also known in some parts as red drum, became important commercially in the mid-twentieth century, particularly off the Atlantic coast of Canada and Maine, where the species is found in relative abundance. The quality of their meat and their magnificent appearance also makes the redfish particularly appealing to anglers, and whilst they are not known for putting up much of a fight, continue to be a particular favorite amongst deep sea fishermen.

As the name suggests, the redfish is best known for its brightly colored appearance, typically ranging anywhere from orange to scarlet or flame red. Redfish have long, flat bodies and large eyes, giving them a similar appearance to perch hence are also known as ocean perch. Their mouths are lined with small, sharp teeth, and their jaws have a bony protrusion which distinguishes them from other similar species. Their appearance is completed by the presence of a single dorsal fin that runs most the length of its body and a comparatively small tail fin. The majority of adult redfish off the coast of Maine are anywhere between fifteen and twenty inches in length, though the occasional larger fish does exist.

Redfish are known as a deep water fish, with a range anywhere between one hundred and five hundred meters. They prefer rough ground, so the aim to fish near underwater disturbances such as shelves and ledges. Redfish typically inhabit cool water, though are known to venture into shallower waters in particularly cold winter months. Known fishing spots for redfish include the Gulf Maine and the southern edge of Georges Bank.

The diet of the redfish consists mainly of invertebrates and small fish, and as a result can be caught using almost any bait. Popular choices include worms, shrimp, herring, minnows, maggots and crayfish. Artificial baits and lures can also be used, as too can flies. A medium action rod coupled with a fifteen to twenty pound test line is more than adequate for landing the majority redfish.

Once hooked, redfish are not renowned for their fighting strength, making them an ideal target for young and experienced anglers as well as seasoned veterans looking to land a trophy redfish. Due to their abundance, popularity and ease of fishing, redfish are typically a targeted fish for chartered trips.

When it comes to buying car finance look online first

When it comes to buying car finance your first port of call should be online. By going online with a specialist car finance website you are able to access some of the top UK car loan providers to determine which would be the cheapest option for your particular circumstances. Car finance comes in many different forms and it is imperative that you understand your options and what each option entails so when it comes to comparing you know which is better for your personal needs.

The most popular type of car finance is hire purchase, this is simply a loan which you take out after paying a deposit against the car and then pay for the remainder over a certain period of time. The monthly repayments will depend on how much you wish to borrow, how long you wish to take the loan over and the deposit you are willing to put down. Of course your credit rating will be taken into account as well and you will be putting the car up as security against the money you are borrowing in case you find you cannot afford to keep up the repayments.

An alternative method when it comes to buying car finance is to go for a popular choice called personal contract purchase. Again you will put a deposit down to reduce the amount left to borrow on the car and then take out an agreement which will last for a specified term during which very low monthly repayments are made, after this there will be a lump sum left which will mean you have choices to make. If you decide to pay off the balance left owing then the car is yours, if you want to part exchange for a new car you can or you can give the car back and you owe nothing more.

A lease or credit purchase is very similar to the personal contract purchase method of buying car finance but you do not have the option of changing cars or of giving it back, you have to find the money for the balance left owing. All finance options suit different circumstances and information and advice can be found with a specialist website regarding all options. Understanding what you are taking on is essential so you have to not only compare the rates of interest and deals but also unearth any hidden charges, these are usually found in the key facts which should come with the loan.

Buying car finance is never easy and it is not something which should be rushed into, never be tempted by what seems to be very low interest rates without first reading the small print. Hidden costs could be associated with the finance option which could boost up the cost considerably. By reading the small print you can determine how much interest will be added onto the loan, the total amount you will pay and the rate of interest, also how much would be left to pay up at the end of a personal contract purchase or lease purchase.

Hi-yo silver fund

"Stay long precious metals" ...

I'm beginning to think that's Graeme Irvine's mantra.

He's the business columnist on Longer Life's Bourse page, and I'll leave it to you to discover his reasons for this four-word chant. Amidst Graeme's siren calls, I've taken notice of his recent daily listings of silver transfers. It seems that HSBC-Hong Kong is in the process of accumulating a substantially high percentage of the current market inventory. The range is something like 60%, an achievement I find as breathtaking as it is intriguing.

Why would that much of the world's investment-grade silver be moved to one depository? So far, I've not been able to find anyone willing to provide an answer. The accumulation is public knowledge, so I'm not suspecting a conspiracy.

I think most investors recall the Hunt brothers' clumsy attempt to corner the silver market three decades ago --- driving their Texan empire from billionaire to bankrupt within eight years --- and wouldn't think of trying to duplicate that stunt.

Super-investor Warren Buffet is, of course, much more sophisticated. His acquisition of 130million ounces of silver approximately nine years ago was made in tranches calculated to coincide with the market rather than drive it. All outward appearances indicate that he has no clandestine intentions; instead, he's simply substantiating his confidence in the metal and possible lack thereof in the long-term strength of the dollar.

Perhaps the HSBC-Hong Kong hoarding is a result of an announcement made in June 2005 by the United Kingdom's Barclay's Bank in which they filed their intent with the USA's Securities & Exchange Commission to establish an Exchange Trading Fund ('ETF') for silver. Specifically, the applicant is a Barclay's subsidiary, iShares Silver Trust, and the process gained momentum in January 2006 when the SEC approved their listing on the American Stock Exchange.

The Silver ETF is meeting with strong resistance, most notably by the Silver Users Association (SUA), who represent entities who make, sell and distribute products related to silver. Their complaint is that in order to support the ETF, so much silver would have to be taken out of the marketplace and held in reserve that its membership would be burdened by the metal's higher cost. As the SUA membership processes 80% of all silver produced in the USA, they represent a significant voice in this matter.

Ted Butler is one of the most respected silver analysts in the world. His opinion is that, no matter what the outcome of the Barclay's application, the entire episode is a positive development for silver investors.

First, let him explain how Exchange Trading Funds for commodities operate, and then describe how the Barclay's proposal is being positioned:

"In order to establish a commodity ETF, a financial institution buys and stores a quantity of the commodity in question and then issues shares of common stock at a fixed unit of conversion to represent fractional ownership of that commodity. In the case of silver, Barclays would buy the metal, in industry standard 1000oz bars, have them stored in London and elsewhere, and issue common stock shares in a ratio of one share of stock for every ten ounces of silver. The shares would then be traded on a recognized stock exchange, hence the name, exchange traded fund. In the case of the Barclay's Silver ETF ... they’ve even decided on the stock symbol, SLV. The amount of silver bought and stored would increase and decrease depending upon the investment demand for the shares, similar to how the gold ETFs currently function."

The practicalities of a silver ETF include:

- Stock certificates are certainly easier for the investor to store than the metal itself, and

- The 'common stock' format allows more categories of investors the eligibility to participate.

What is interesting about the Barclay's proposal is that its goal is to put 130million ounces of silver into reserve, the exact level of Warren Buffet's holdings. Could they be using that precedent as a model? Burton notes that even though Buffet was careful not to disrupt the market, the price of silver still doubled during that accumulation. Furthermore, Burton says, "I see nothing in the Barclays prospectus suggesting such buying restraint, either in time or price."

So, Butler reasons, this makes the situation most favorable for involved investors:

"This silver ETF announcement is a true win-win for silver investors. (If) their silver ETF becomes effective, the impact on the price of silver will be great. That’s win number one, obvious and straightforward.

"But if ... this ETF never sees the light of day, that will be a big win as well for silver investors. Why? Because it will prove for all to see just how critical the supply/demand and inventory situation is in silver. If the government says no way to this ETF, it will be for one reason only – there is not enough real silver in the world to fund it."

Either way, it's a development worth watching. Graeme lists the Comex figures daily at the end of his column and always mentions when another allotment of silver moves to HSBC-Hong Kong. The growth of those figures could well be the 'tracer' of things to come.
